My journey to intimacy with my father has been one of the most profound and humbling experience of my life. In the place of intimacy at my father’s feet I was broken, my greatest fears became the source of my confidence. I realized I needed to let go of everything and cling to my father. Physically he was unseen, but His presence was overwhelming. Daily through his word, my faith was strengthened, the barriers which had been built from thoughts, perceptions and fear of the unknown were dismantled and I embraced the new me. I wanted to experience my father in a new way and the rebirth had begun. Hebrews 11: 1-3
I no longer fear for anything, nor plan with anxiety. It’s been a literal walk of faith where I am constantly leaning on my father for guidance. Through the promptings of the Holy Spirit and divine insight I take each second as it comes resting in his promise and divine instructions – be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God (Philippians 4:6).
I have come to know my father as the I AM – my everything, all sufficiency, pruner, guardian, nurturer, friend, deliverer, mighty warrior and confidant. During the initial stage of this experience, I took one month off work and social media. It was just me, my father and my family. When the one month down time had elapsed and I had to return to work, I became anxious. I was worried I would become distracted with the world and lose focus. I prayed for strength and grace not to falter and I was reminded of this word –My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well-constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. School’s out quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving (Colossians 2:6-7 MSG).
Then this analogy was given to me- Imagine when a woman conceives, the baby is sheltered in her womb. Then comes the time of delivery where the child is brought forth to begin his/her journey in life outside of the mother. The child is still protected by the mum but eventually has to find his or her way to independence. The foundation provided by the parents as well as guiding principles become the child’s moral compass. The success or failure of that child depends on his/her choices. You’ve been raised on the message of the faith and have followed sound teaching. Now pass on this counsel to the followers of Jesus there and you’ll be a good servant of Jesus. Stay clear of silly stories that get dressed up as religion. Exercise daily in god-no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we’ve thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We’re banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers. (1 Timothy 4:6-10).
In that same vein, Tejiri I have equipped you with my word as a guiding lamp unto your feet and the presence of my Holy Spirit. You can’t bear fruit by remaining isolated. Your light must shine and through the process, tests, trials and temptations will come but you know my commandments and if you obey them you have nothing to worry about. Remember I AM.
I write this today as led to encourage anyone going through a rebirth and transitional phase. Commit your plans to the Lord and He will direct your steps. Carefully guard your thoughts and circle. Always remember that no man nor power can alter God’s plans for you except you give room for it, you are your greatest weakness!!! The enemy will always try to steal your joy, through negative thoughts, ill-conceived notions etc. but the joy of the Lord is your strength and you my friend are an overcomer.
Nahum 1:15-Look! Striding across the mountains – a messenger bringing the latest good news: peace! A holiday, Judah! Celebrate! Worship and recommit to God! No more worries about this enemy. This one is history. Close the books.
